One of Turkey’s most vibrant floral events, the Istanbul Tulip Festival celebrates the country’s rich Ottoman heritage, a legacy that includes the early cultivation of tulips long before the flowers became famous in Europe. This year, the festival runs from April 11 to 22 in the iconic Emirgan Park, one of Istanbul’s largest and most beautiful green spaces. Visitors can admire over 120 varieties of tulips and explore themed exhibitions, art installations, and bustling flower markets.
Keukenhof Tulip Festival, Netherlands
Just a short drive from Amsterdam, Keukenhof Gardens are widely regarded as the Netherlands’ premier tulip destination and one of the most enchanting flower parks in the world. Open from March 20 to May 11, Keukenhof offers 32 hectares of jaw-dropping floral displays, featuring more than 800 tulip varieties. Expect everything from artistic flower arrangements and design exhibits to interactive workshops and dazzling floral shows.
Canadian Tulip Festival, Ottawa
The Canadian Tulip Festival, held annually in Ottawa, is one of the largest of its kind globally. It began as a symbol of gratitude from the Netherlands for Canada’s role in the liberation of the country during World War II. First held in 1953, it has since become a beloved cultural event. More than 300,000 tulips bloom across Ottawa’s streets and parks, drawing visitors from around the world. In 2025, the festival will take place from May 9 to 19.
Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, US
Set in the charming town of Mount Vernon, Washington, this is the largest tulip festival in the United States. Each year, the Skagit Valley transforms into a vibrant carpet of tulips stretching across more than 20 hectares. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of blooming fields, festive parades, tulip-themed art exhibitions, and community events. In 2025, the festival runs throughout the month of April, from the 1st to the 30th.
Srinagar Tulip Festival, India
Asia’s largest tulip festival is already in full bloom in Srinagar, India. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Zabarwan Range, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden hosts an extraordinary display of 1.75 million tulips in 75 varieties, including rare Dutch imports. Visitors can also enjoy traditional Kashmiri dance performances, craft markets, and local cuisine. The festival continues until April 20.
